Tokyo MOU | Annual Report on Port State Control, 2019

On May 8th, 2020, the Tokyo Memorandum of Understanding (Tokyo MOU) has released its Annual Report on Port State Control (PSC) in the Asia-Pacific Region for the year of 2019. This annual report is the twenty-fifth issue and covers port State control activities and developments in the 2019 calendar year.
31,372 inspections took place during this period, involving 17,647 individual ships, on ships registered under 97 flags. Tokyo MOU informed of 983 ships detentions with detention rate at 3.13% and a total of 73,393 deficiencies, mostly related to fire safety measures, life-saving appliances and safety of navigation have been recorded.
