IMO Amendments | St. Kitts and Nevis International Ship Registry

The International Ship Registry of St. Kitts and Nevis (SKANReg) has released a newsletter for the IMO adopted in 2022 amendments to SOLAS, the 1978 Protocol, the IGC Code, the IGF Code, the 2011 ESP Code and the IBC Code, namely:

• Resolution MSC.521(106) - Amendments to SOLAS related to safety measures for ships carrying industrial personnel;
• Resolution MSC.522(106) - Amendments to the Protocol of 1978 related to Cargo Ship Safety Equipment Certificate;
• Resolution MSC.523(106) - Amendments to the IGC Code related to Chapter 6 on Materials of construction and quality control;
• Resolution MSC.524(106) - Amendments to the IGF Code related to Part A-1 on Specific requirements for ships using natural gas as fuel;
• Resolution MSC.525(106) - Amendments to the 2011 ESP Code related to Annex A on Code on the enhanced programme of inspections during the surveys of bulk carriers and Annex B on Code on the enhanced programme of inspections during surveys of oil tankers;
• Resolution MSC.526(106) - Amendments to the IBC Code related to Chapter 2 on Ship survival capability and location of cargo tanks.

Additionaly, has informed all parties concerned for the following guidelines and notifications which have been published:

• MEPC.1/Circ.907 - Guidelines for underwater radiated noise reduction in INUIT NUNAAT and the Arctic;
• MSC.1/Circ.1557/Rev.1 - Revised Hazardous Area Classification (Application of SOLAS Regulation II-11/45.11);
• PPR.1/Circ.7/Rev.1 - Decisions with regard to the categorization and classification of products;
• Circular Letter No.4782 - Resolution MEPC.381(80) - Notification of the establishment of the date on which discharge requirements for the Red Sea Special Area and the Gulf of Aden Special Area under MARPOL Annex I shall take effect;
• Circular Letter No.4782 - Resolution MEPC.382(80) - Notification of the establishment of the date on which discharge requirements for the Red Sea Special Area under MARPOL Annex V shall take effect;
• MEPC.1/Circ.778/Rev.4 - List of Special Areas, Emission Control Areas and Particularly Sensitive Sea Areas.
